We had a wonderful first night at Disneyland! After a smooth flight and arrival in Orange County the whole Johnson gang checked into our hotel, had a bite to eat, and headed to the Happiest Place on Earth for Connor's 5th birthday! When we got to will call to pick up our tickets, I told the nice "cast member" that it was Connor's birthday. They are running a promotion this year where you get in free to their parks on your birthday. Since we had already purchased our "5 for 3" park hoppers, I didn't expect him to get in free, but just mentioned his birthday in hopes of a free pin or something. To our surprise, they gave us a $72 gift card, the price we would have paid for one day in the park for him to spend on any merchandise. Wow! With that great start, we had probably my favorite evening at the park of all the 5 days. We hit the rides that the kids were excited about with no lines at all. We rode Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, the Carousel, and more. We also got to see the amazing fireworks show that Sadie had looked forward to since the 4th of July. Just when we thought it couldn't have been a better night, we got to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse on our way out! What a birthday!
