Christmas lights

Last Friday, Ryan's boss hosted a family work party. He is a great guy and it was fun meeting more of the people Ryan works with. I have to say that the best part of our night was the lights at the Botanical Gardens in Bellvue. The lights were incredible and the kids had a blast running around drinking hot chocolate and jumping in puddles. They were soaked by the end of the night, but very happy and tired. I highly recommend this to anyone that lives close. I think we will make it a holiday tradition for our family.

More Seaworld Pictures

Seaworld

We spent a few of the days of our Texas Trip in San Antonio to take the kiddos to Seaworld. We stayed at a fun resort right across from the park. I don't know what was more fun...the resort or Seaworld. We were excited that my mom and dad joined us for the second day at World. Some hightlights were riding the roller coasters over and over with my dad. We even got mom to go on the upside down loopty loop one "Great White" two times in a row. (There were no lines so the attendent let us just stay on and ride again. I have to admit that was a little much even for me who loves thrill rides. I felt a little light headed for a while after that. Connor even went on the Shamoo rollercoaster. The kids and I loved feeding the bottlenosed dolphins. We also LOVED the Shamoo show. I could be wrong, but I think Ryan liked the dophin and beluga whale show the best. There were some amazing divers that really made the show neat. The weather could not have been better and our kids were happy and entertained both days. Here a few pictures from our fun trip.

Thanksgiving

We took a wonderful trip to Houston to visit my mom, dad, sister Melanie, and her family. We had a rough start to the trip. We were supposed to leave the Saturday before Thanksgiving and Friday night both of our kids were throwing up all night. We tried to rebook for Monday and it was going to cost more than a thousand dollars with the change fee and change in fare for all of us to go then. We were able to change to Sunday instead for just the change fee and we just prayed that the kids would get better quickly and that we wouldn't get the bug. Luckily our Sunday flight worked out fine. After our 5 hour flight, we were soooo happy so finally be at "Texas" Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a great time swimming, playing at parks, eating yummy food, hanging with cousins, and Grandma and Grandpa.

Sunday Outings to the Highschool

We have a tradition of going to the fields of the highschool just behind our neighborhood every Sunday afternoon/evening. We load the kids in the wagon ( or sometimes Connor rides his bike) and always bring lots of sports gear. Ryan and Connor play soccer, football, tennis, or baseball. Sadie and I just run around and sometimes pet and feed the horses that live in the pasture next to the fields. Cooper joins the fun too playing fetch with frisbee. Last week Cooper found a friend- a Lab puppy to run around with. The fields were a little soggy and both dogs got sooooo muddy. Ryan had to give him a bath in the backyard in the dark when we got back. We all love this little family tradition .

Chuck-e-Cheese's

Last week we had been in the house a lot because of rainy weather and sick kids, so I decided to take the kids to a Chuck-e-Cheese's (a place I usually try to avoid). We spent about $5 and had over an hours worth of fun. Connor of course loved the sports games like air hockey, basketball, and ski ball. Sadie liked driving the little cars and interfering with any game Connor was trying to play. Gotta love little sisters! We went home to have baths, eat dinner, and I took off to Young Women's. Ryan appreciated that they ran off some steam so they went to bed a little better. I guess Chuck-e-Cheese's can be a fun outing...but I still won't eat the pizza!:)

Trick or Treating

The trunk or treat was followed up by a fabulous night of trick-or-treating. It rained all day and we were gearing up for a wet night, but about an hour before starting the rain stopped and a really cool fog came in. It was a perfect crisp, cool, fall night for trick-or-treating. Anette and Mark came down to see the kids dressed up, and to pass out candy while we were out and about. Our old neighbors, the Brodaks, and their 3 kiddos came over and we did almost the whole neighborhood. Connor decided about 3/4 of the way that he was done and wanted to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. He really enjoyed helping with the passing out. I tried so hard to convince him to come back out because our friends the Cammack's had come over to trick or treat with us and the Brodak's weren't done yet either, but there was no convincing him. Sadie was soooo cute...and stubborn. She wanted to walk the whole time AND hold her own bucket. Since I knew she didn't need much candy I would try to stand back with her while Connor and his friends would go to the doors, but she would have none of that. She had to hit every door. I'm afraid we have quite and independent and opiniated girl on our hands. (I wonder where she gets that?) After dropping the kids off at home, we went to the annual chili dinner at Fourtners and had fun hanging out with friends and YUMMY food. What a great night!

Trunk or Treat

We had so much fun at our annual Trunk or Treat. This is always such a blast for kids and adults. Its a great activity to invite friends and neighbors too! Unfortunatey Connor was a little sick, so he wasn't as excited about all the games, but he wasn't too ill to trunk or treat. :) Sadie got a hang of the whole process really quickly. At some cars, the candy passer outer's (is that a word) would just hold the bowl out and let kids grab what they wanted. Sadie would just stand there and keep grabbing from the bowl until I dragged her off kicking and screaming...we all know Sadie loves her treats! Saide and I had fun dressing as a puppy and Cruella De Ville. Connor wanted to be Dash again, but Ryan wouldn't be Mr. Incredible again. :(

Last Year's Trunk or Treat

Pumpkin Patch

Connor's Preschool class went on their annual trip to beautiful Hunter's Pumpkin Patch a few weeks ago. It was cold, but not raining, so we were happy. Sadie, Connor, his friends and I all enjoyed the goats, slide, pigs, tractor ride, and of course picking pumpkins. Connor was so decisive (as he always is). He picked one within the first couple of seconds of being in the patch, and that was the only one he was bringing home. (Since there was no limit on the size, I was trying to get him to choose a big one) :) I wished I had taken some video of Sadie. She was screaming because we were out of food for the animals, and everytime she would screech the HUGE turkey would gobble. It was hilarious.

Sister's Weekend

So... I am totally lazy, but this is a blog entry that my sister wrote about our fun weekend we had. I didn't have my camera for most of the time so she took most of the pics. You can check it out at...

Fun with Painting!

This week, I think we enjoyed the last of our nice weather for the season. Wednesday I pulled out the paints and Sadie and Connor painted rocks from the backyard, on paper, and the most fun...on themselves. Ihad to spray them both down with the hose after they were finished. Good times!

Apple Fest

After the soccer game Saturday, we went to Lattin's Cider Mill. It is home of the world's best apple fritters only available on Saturdays (thats why I go) and lots of animals for the kids to visit. We had the most fun feeding goats and chickens. We also ran into our friends the Cammack's and the Reed's. We all enjoyed yummy treats and beautiful weather. Feeding a "not so hungry goat"...I've never seen goats not eat, but we went at the end of the day and they had gorged themselves all day so some refused our oats. Enjoying the amazing fresh apples we got at Lattin's on the way home. She say's "cheese" when she see's the camera. "Little Miss Sunshine" found a dandilion at the park, put it in her ear, and thought she was gorgeous!
